Of course these are broad generalizations, but after reading Mina Loy's work I can't help but be assertive and preachy… Speaking of assertive and preachy, here's a throwback to my teenage angst. I feel that "Girl Anachronism" pairs perfectly with Feminist Manifesto as both explore the uneasiness of feeling out of place and out of time. The natural state of being a woman, being a human, a disengagement from societal expectations.

DIE in the Past Live in the Future
How strange it would be to live in a society where impersonality was actually desirable…then again we do we live in a society where people would seemingly rather stare at a screen in their palm than look another person in the eye. Mina Loy would be devastated by social media and the constant need of approval and the nature of rejection/acceptance. The pace at which the internet has programmed the attention span of today's population's has limited the amount of information which can be fully processed and understood. Loy would ask people of today to "unscrew, or detach ourselves from this hypnotic inability to process information. She would also be devastated by the hypersexualized body image the media and advertisements set out for women of modern day society. In Loy's lifetime women were valued for their "physical purity" and their success determined by whether there was a ring on her finger ( Feminist Manifesto). But these days it appears that women are valued solely on their physical appearance, and their success measured by their popularity or "followers".
